When you see Up, or the next time you think about it if you’ve seen it already, imagine that when Carl goes inside his house after being dropped off by the police that he goes upstairs and dies quietly in his sleep.
Then you won’t be watching a fairly good adventure film, but a really good movie about the journey to Heaven.

If that's Heaven, why is that annoying kid there?
lol, Marinka. But I think it's a lovely thought. Maybe more like Purgatory, a place to work out his unresolved issues about parenting and figuring out what his wife's dream of big adventure was really all about.
I loved that movie. Now I love it a little more. Thanks, BPD!

Took my 2 grandsons to see it last weekend when they were here visiting from out of town.We absolutely loved it!!
If there is a heaven, I'm really hoping not to run into a psychotic Howard Hughes wannabe on my way there.
Very interesting, I will have to go and see it.
Did you just ruin this movie for me? :)
Interesting, very interesting.
I haven't seen it yet, so now I'm going to remember that when I do.
Oh man! That movie was sad enough before!!!
maybe that is indeed what the whole story was about...I don't know anyone who didn't cry during that movie- young or old.
I think it was more like a purgatory because he had to go there and 1) redeem himself from being a cranky old man 2) fight the "gatekeeper" and 3) get some closure. So, I'm voting purgatory.
Also, my kid laughed through the whole movie and I thought he was having a great time and that he thought the movie was hilarious. I asked him afterward did he like the movie and he said he didn't like it at all. What's up with that?
You did say you were starting an advice column, right? :)
